Check out these "unplugged" recordings
Have you ever checked out an artist on Bandcamp, Spotify or Apple Music and seen that they have seven or eight different releases ... only to find out that they're all either singles or two-song EPs? And a couple of the songs might appear on three or four of those releases, each time with slightly different arrangements and increasingly crappy productions? That's what we're trying to avoid.
So when KMX recorded these acoustic versions of songs that are already on our albums, they languished for a while. We just didn't want to confuse people who were checking us out for the first time on a streaming platform because our music is already confusing enough without the whole "which version of which song should I be listening to?" dilemma. The solution? We just uploaded the acoustic songs to a different streaming platform where we don't have as much of our material uploaded, and then we embedded those recordings here. It will work fine ... until someone tries to check us out for the first time on SoundCloud.
As for where you can find different versions of these three songs -- I linked to all of the different versions of "Barbarian" on this page. Meanwhile, "Satan's Commandos" appeared on our first album, and it was demoed by our predecessor band Children of Nar, and it was recorded by our predecessor band's predecessor band whom we rarely talk about in hopes of keeping our day jobs. And finally, "Robotron 2084" is on our second album.
Now check out these acoustic performances!
And now the band plays musical chairs for a Searbahn solo set...!
Got time for one more? How about some (actual) jazz?
Marc Farful arranged this recording with some mystery musicians.
